If you have a liking of pocket knives you have defiantly heard the name Case. WR Case and sons was originally started back to 1889 in New York. The brothers were selling knives out of the back of a wagon that would travel from small town to town. In 1990 the brothers decided to incorporate and they became Case Brothers Cutlery Company.
The current name of WR Case is one based on one of the original brothers, William Russell. The company took residence in Pennsylvania in 1905 and then burned down in 1912.
Case has made history many times in it lifetime so far. WWI they made knives for servicemen and women and NASA astronauts have taken them to space on missions.
The company has changed hands several times in its lifetime as well, currently it is owned by ZIPPO which is also based in Bradford.
Case is known for the method in which they make knives. They re made of steel alloy and with a heat treatment method. The knives are made with several materials including buffalo horn, mother of pearl, exotic hardwoods and some precious stones. Knife designs include: The SlimLock, Trapper, Tiny Trapper, Baby Doc, Tribal-Lock, CopperLock, RussLock, Baby Butterbean, Cheetah, Cheetah Cub, Hobo, Sod Buster, Mako, Mini-Blackhorn and XX-Changer.
